Coleford’s Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) is going to Referendum on Thursday 13th September 2018.

On 13th September 2018, residents of Coleford parish can vote on adopting the Plan as law. The Plan aims to give Coleford a bright and strong future by taking the the voices and views of residents and turning them into a legal planning document that can then influence future planning decisions to bring out the best in the area. After thorough consultation and numerous painstaking drafts, the Plan was submitted to the Forest of Dean District Council on 1st March 2018, where a further consultation took place, followed by an examination by an expert inspector. Now, on Thursday 13th September there will be a referendum on the Plan. All electors in the parish can vote in the referendum so make sure you participate in this important process. Whether you have been involved in consultation before now, or whether this is the first time you have seen the plan, you can have your say on the 13th September. Administrator appointed to help Coleford shine

Written by admin. Posted in News

We have just appointed an Administrator to support the plan’s Steering Group in their task of ensuring the town has a bright future that reflects the things most important to residents. The role was awarded to Meg Humphries, who has lived in the Forest for most of her life. Meg says: ‘I am delighted to be working on such an important project that will have a positive impact on a wonderful town. In previous roles, I worked on plans and funding bids for communities in Bristol so it’s nice to bring these skills home to benefit my local area.’ After public consultation and evidence-gathering, we are currently pulling draft policies together and gaining momentum with the plan, which will help shape the town’s development over the coming years. As the NDP goes through its numerous stages of preparation, ongoing public consultation is vital and so you are all invited to contact us to share your views.
